Handmade Jewelry Process | Ayni Jewelry Art

Every Ayni Jewelry Art piece begins with a carefully selected natural gemstone or an idea inspired by nature, ancient cultures and organic forms.

Calin works primarily with sterling silver, fine silver and 22K gold. He shapes, textures, solders and finishes every piece by hand in his Bothell, Washington studio. Fire, wood and traditional metalsmithing tools help create the distinctive surfaces and natural forms found throughout his work.

Ayni jewelry is not created from commercial molds or mass-produced components. The character of each gemstone guides the design, and small variations created during the hand-forming process make every piece unique.

For custom jewelry, customers may select a gemstone, preferred style and size. Calin then develops an original design that responds to the material and the person who will wear it. The result is a meaningful, wearable work of art that cannot be exactly reproduced.
